Tips for improving your website

If your website is the face of your business to the world you need to be sure that you are well represented. Therefore check if your website has the following basics:

Quality graphics: Your logo and pictures must look great. This is the way your visitors will see your product. If the picture doesn’t look good chances are that the visitor will leave your website and search for another provider.

Great content: Be sure that your website contains the information needed by a visitor in order to make the decision to contact you. Check for spelling but more important that your content is well written in the context of your business and industry.

Organization: The main menu of your website should be clear for the visitor. It will be the guidance of the people entering your website. If they don’t understand the options they will not be able to browse your products and services. Therefore they will not contact you. Why would they?

Colors: The Internet trend Web 2.0 is to work mostly over a white background with black font. You don’t have to agree entirely but at least be sure to have a clean look of your website so your products can the “Star” of your website, not the web designer. Select colors that fit your product. For example, if you sell “Medical Equipment” people want to see the photo of the equipment and read the information clearly so they can understand the product.

Contact form: After a visitor has read about your product you have to provide a channel of communication as effective as possible. A contact form lets you make important questions to you prospect so you can handle the lead better. For example you can make an image of the prospect when they fill the form like this: Name (English, Spanish, know language), Email (free email or corporate), Telephone (area code tells you where is located), Product of interest (tells you what they look for) and Comments (they explain more details). With a simple form like this you will have a lot of information from your clients even before you speak with them.

Search Engine Optimization SEO: If nobody visits your website you don’t exist. Be sure that your website has at least a basic SEO applied in order to get visits.

Social Media Marketing: If you already have a presence in one of the popular social media networks, for example Facebook, make sure your web designer places the Facebook badge on your home page with a link to your Facebook Business Page. If you don’t have a Facebook page create a simple one and connect it with your website.

With these basic concepts your website will be working for you more effectively. To skyrocket your visits and for lead generation you need to employ more complex strategies involving an experienced Internet marketer.
